Student Achievement Slips in Southeastern Wisconsin
October, 2007

On the whole, our region's schools are losing ground to schools elsewhere in Wisconsin.
The achievement gap between southeastern Wisconsin schools and those in the rest of the state has widened in all subjects and at all grade levels from last year. When the Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha public school districts are removed from the equation, overall performance in southeastern Wisconsin schools improves, and in some subjects, surpasses the rest of the state.
